24A – Journey Features
Here is the compilation of enhancements or announcements set to be introduced in the 24A update for journeys.
Checklist Tasks and Onboarding Apps to be Replaced with Journeys in Update 24D
The big announcement made was “Checklist Tasks and Onboarding Apps to be Replaced with Journeys in Update 24D”, this means that the customers still using “Onboarding” and “Checklist Tasks” tile for pending worker and employees respectively will be moved to journeys in 24D.
Note that this does not change the setup task “Checklist Template” where we do journeys configuration – that will remain as is. The customers have a year’s time to plan and migrate to journeys.
Embedded Application Task Regions in Journeys Tasks
The application task will now be embedded on the journeys page itself which will reduce number of clicks to navigate to task and then come back to journeys to mark it as done.
- A new task type has been introduced – Embedded Application Task.
- Currently its only enabled for Performer = Worker
- Only the Redwood pages and regions that are displayed in the Embedded Application Task list of values (LoV) are supported.
- This update would need a configuration change to your journeys if you would like to use this feature.
- If you are updating the templates, then any worker who is assigned journey after the changes would see embedded application task but anyone who gets the journey assigned before the changes would still see application task in the form of link.
Embedded Application Task - Supported application as of 24A (06-Feb-2024):

Support for Redwood Application Tasks in Journeys
Quick actions that are Redwood enabled will open the Redwood page when configured as an application task.
Control Display Of Contact Us Section In Assigned Journeys
Now, you can use the Contact Us option in the display settings to decide whether to show or hide the Contact Us section in the assigned journeys. By default, the section is set to Show for Line Manager, Other User, and Initiator.
Note: Run the ESS process Update Assigned Journey Attributes Based on Modified Journey to include the display property changes in assigned journeys.
Edit Journey Tasks From My Tasks Tab
You can now edit all your assigned journey tasks conveniently in the My Tasks tab, eliminating the need to go to the assigned journey page to edit a specific task.
Limit Journey Task Expiry Duration
On the task setup page, you can enter the expiration duration of a journey task, with a maximum limit of 365 days. The duration can be set anywhere from 1 to 365 days. If you try to input a number greater than 365, a validation error will be triggered, appearing in the Expire field. The validation is enforced so that tasks don’t remain open for a very long period.
Support For Creating Learn Tasks In Personal Journeys
You can now create the Learn Enrolment and Learn Community task types when you create or edit a personal journey or edit an assigned journey from the Journeys app. These 2 new task types are in addition to these existing supported task types:
- Document
- External URL
- Manual task
- Video
