Delegate Approval Notifications
When an employee or administrator sets up an approval delegation through the “Roles and Delegations” page, you have the option to configure a notification to be triggered. As administrators, enable FYI notifications for approval delegations to inform the delegated persons about newly assigned delegations or any changes made to existing ones.
After you enable delegation notifications, depending on who created the delegation rule, notifications are sent as follows:
- An employee creates or updates a delegation rule: The delegated person gets an FYI notification.
- An administrator creates or updates a delegation rule: Both the person for whom the delegation rule is created, and the delegated person get an FYI notification.
To enable delegation notifications, you need to create the HCM_APPROVAL_DELEGATION_SEND_NOTIFICATION profile option and set it to true.
- Navigate to the Setup and Maintenance work area.
- Search for and select the Manage Profile Options task.
- In the Search Results section, click New.
- On the Create Profile Option page, specify the values indicated in this table for the new profile option.
- Click Save and Close.
- On the Manage Profile Options page, select the Enabled and Updatable check boxes for the Site level.
- Click Save and Close.
To set the HCM_APPROVAL_DELEGATION_SEND_NOTIFICATION profile option value to true:
- Navigate to the Setup and Maintenance work area.
- Search for and select the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
- Search for the HCM_APPROVAL_DELEGATION_SEND_NOTIFICATION profile option.
- Set the Profile Value field to true.
- Click Save and Close.
