Hosting Public Images or Videos from UCM Server

Are you looking to use an image on external career site or in campaigns, but facing limitations with UCM server access? The images hosted on UCM server will only work if you have fusion access.

We’ve got a solution for this; you need to upload the images in UCM server with the security groups as “Public”.

Follow the detailed guide below for a step-by-step walkthrough:

  1. You need to do one time setup of creating a role – which has “Content Administration” privilege and assign it to your role.
  2. Once that is done run the “Import User and Role Application Security Data” and wait for 10 minutes before the assigned roles takes effect.
  3. Upload the image to the UCM server and set the security group as “Public”.
  4. Select “Content Information”, and scroll to the bottom of the page where you’ll find two links: “Web Location” and “Native File”. Right-click on the “Native File” link, and copy its address. This URL can now be utilized for your logo, background images, and more.

Step# 1: Role creation:

Navigate to Tools >> Security Console >> Create Role
