Migrating approval rules using SOA composer

01.JPG

Are you finding it challenging to migrate approval rules between environments due to the substantial effort involved and the potential for human errors?

Here is the solution.! You can easily migrate the approval rules using export and import functionality of SOA composer.

Points to be noted before you start the migration process:

  • You should have the BPM Admin Role (BPMProcessAdmin) to be able to import or export rules.
  • Make sure that both the source and target environments are on the same patch level and same release version; otherwise, the import process will not succeed.

Follow the below steps to migrate the rules:

  1. Open SOA Composer in the source environment using the below URL, change xxx with your client pod name:

https://xxx.oraclecloud.com/soa/composer

  1. Go to the Export/Import menu and click on Export SOA Changes.

  1. Wait for the processing to complete. The process creates an archive file. Use the Download button to download the file to your local drive.

Note: In certain instances, an error may occur, or downloading the file might be unsuccessful. In such cases, attempt the download again using incognito mode, or delete the cache and retry the process.

  1. Go to Downloads folder in your local drive and right click on the file and click on 7-Zip and then “Open archive”:
