Resubmit Approval Transactions'
Using transaction console, you can resubmit approval transactions that are stuck due to a server-related issue or transactions that have unfixable errors. The resubmitted transaction will be re-evaluated and assigned accordingly. This feature saves your time to recreate the transaction and submit it again.
You can resubmit approval transactions that are in any of these states:
- Stuck
- Aborted/Terminated
- Withdrawn
- Rejected
Two major steps are required to configure this:
- Create and enable 2 profile options.
- Configure resubmission alert notification.
Create and enable profile options:
Two profile options to be created as below:
| Profile Option | Effect of Enabling | Effect of Disabling |
|---|---|---|
| HCM_TAC_RESUBMIT_ACTION | The Resubmit action is available. | The Resubmit action isn’t available. |
| HCM_TAC_RESUBMIT_FOR_ALL_NON_APPROVED | If the HCM_TAC_RESUBMIT_ACTION profile option is also enabled, then the Resubmit action is available for all unapproved transactions that aren’t bypassed and that are either in Withdrawn or Rejected state. | If the HCM_TAC_RESUBMIT_ACTION profile option is also enabled, then the Resubmit action is available only for terminated and stuck transactions. |
Navigate to Setup and Maintenance >> search for the task >> Manage Profile Options. Click on + and add the first profile option as below:
Mark the profile option as Enabled and Updatable at site level:
Similarly add the second profile option as well - HCM_TAC_RESUBMIT_FOR_ALL_NON_APPROVED and mark it as Enabled and Updatable at site level.
Navigate to Setup and Maintenance >> search for the task >> Manage Administrator Profile Values and make the above two profile options as True:
Configure Resubmission Alert Notification:
Search and select the TAC_RESUBMIT_ALERT alert in Alerts Composer. This notification is triggerred to the initiator upon resubmitting a transaction for approval.
Navigate to Tools >> Alert Composer:
Edit the template and configure the notification according to your organization’s requirements by clicking on Manage Recipients and Message.
After making required changes, click on Apply to save the alert.
Now select the transactions in the “Transaction Summary” tab which is withdrawn and then select the Resubmit action.
The submitter gets the below alert:
Note that this action may not be visible if any existing approval transaction can potentially contradict with any of the transactions selected for resubmission.
