Self Service Refresh from P2T and T2T

Did you know that P2T and T2T refreshes are now available as a self-service option? That’s right - if your pods are migrated to OCI NextGen, you’ll be able to refresh an environment on your own.

If your pods are migrated to OCI NextGen then the customer do not need to submit a service request for following activities:

  • P2T/T2T - Environment Refresh
  • Add Language pack
  • Add and remove Fusion administrators
  • Allow IP list (Network access control)
  • Enable/Disable Monthly and patching cadence (concurrent patching)

An environment refresh duplicates data from a source environment to a target environment. This process helps ensure a consistent experience during testing by offering a similar non-production environment for validation and testing before implementing changes to your production environment.

Environment Refresh Requirements and Limitations:

  1. A production environment cannot be refreshed.
  2. During the refresh, the target environment will be unavailable, but the source environment remains unaffected
  3. The source and target environments must be in the same environment family.
  4. The refresh is always carried out using the most recent backup of the source environment, rather than the source environment itself. As a result, there may be discrepancies between the source and target environments if there has been activity on the source environment since the backup was created.
  5. Fusion Applications version and patch level must match in the source and target environments. This includes monthly updates and exception CWB updates.
  6. If the installed language packs differ, the target environment will be updated to match the language packs of the source environment.
  7. A target environment can be refreshed only once per 7 days.
  8. A refresh can’t be performed within 4 days before scheduled maintenance for the target environment.
  9. A refresh can’t be performed 1 day after the start of the target maintenance downtime.
  10. If the source and target environment have different scheduled maintenance dates, you can’t schedule a refresh for a date that falls between the scheduled maintenance dates of the source and target environments.
