Set Banner Message in Global Header

Did you know that you can set up a banner message on your cloud instance to share important information with your users? This message will appear in the global header.

Follow the below steps to set the banner message:

  1. Navigate to Setup and Maintenance and search for tasks Manage Administrator Profile Values:

  1. Search for the profile option - Banner Message (FND_BANNER_MESSAGE):

  1. In profile Values section, click the Add icon and select “Site” and enter the message that you want to show in the global header.

  1. Click Save and Close, sign out and sign back in to view the banner message:

Few key points to consider:

  1. The banner message does not support translation and will be displayed only in English.
  2. Oracle may override your banner message if necessary.
  3. Your message must not exceed 1,000 characters. If it is longer than 77 characters, only the first 77 characters will be displayed on the global header, while the full message will appear when you hover over the banner.
  4. To remove the banner message, simply delete the added row in profile values.
  5. “Banner Message Details” profile option is obsolete and any changes to it has no impact on system.
